    RE: PAY INCREASE REMINDER
First phase of pay increase ($.03/mile) kicks in this week on 11/01/17. Remember, this increase applies to loads with DISPATCH DATE on or after 11/01/17. Next phase of increase ($.03/mile) kicks in a little over a month from now for loads with DISPATCH DATE on or after 12/01/17.

Assuming TAfool is running 120,000 annual pay miles to produce the $50,000 (ebita), that number will become $57,200 after the 12/01/17 pay increase (assuming same miles).

96¢ a mile +fsc to run reefer? What year is this? Dig a little deeper in you're pocket. I know it's painful. Giving up money always is but that's like 1980s pay.

I would say...next to schneider, jct would be your best option...they will run you good and you have a great opportunity to own the truck outright as well which many either dont or have an outrageous balloon payment...also the varible lease that jct has helps when your off..

That would be my next question, off time..... I have custody of my children either their thanksgiving break (I get them nine days) or Christmas break (two weeks) alternating by year, and seven weeks during the summer. This may be an unrealistic expectation, but I intend shutting down those two times a year and being with my kids. Other than those two times, I'll pretty much be at their disposal.

So, how leinent/flexible is JCT when it comes to accommodating a drivers home time? If I've got a big enough reserve to handle bills/payments during my off times, should there be a problem? I'm more concerned with my home time when needed than I am pay just to be honest. I don't see my kids much so they are my number one priority when it's my time.

Thanks again for everyone's input on this.

Does JCT have somewhere in the Portland area to leave the truck/trailer during home time?

I'm not sure. I know they're looking for drivers from my area. I've submitted my info, I'll probably hear from them soon. Y'alls info has been helful enough that I know I at least want to talk to the company.

Generally, they have deals with the reefer repair places, you could drop your trailer at one and bobtail home.

@scottied67 Roadrunner contacted me telling me about their "industry leading LTL Lease program"
. Lol. Didn't I read a pretty terrible expierence you had with them?

As long as you're paying the bills (My Fixed expenses if I took a week off with no trips is around 323 a week for the fixed payment and insurances) then your time off is up to you. @Steel Tiger if I recall correctly, use to take a month off at a time.

They will, from time to time, ask if you will come back out early, and may offer a little incentive money, in case they have more loads than trucks in your area. But you're not forced to.

Could be worse. According to Trans AM trucking's site, they pay 84 cents a mile, loaded and empty for Reefer to their ICs.
