Running with JCT, Part Deux

Hmmm, got an email recently from another company offering $10,000 sign on bonus to come over there..... might have to call and check it out.....

 

I'm here at CocaCola in Waco and a foreign driver came to my truck asking for help. He spoke pretty good English and explained he was new (only a couple months experience).

He couldn't get his tandems to slide without the tires rolling. So, I used the trick of crossing the airlines and had him push in the trailer brake knob.

He was amazed that it worked and asked why the tires were rolling. Told him I'm no mechanic, but I'm willing to bet something is wrong with the trailer brakes and should have an actual mechanic look at it.

He thanked me for the help and I went back to my truck.

 

So if they make you install a camera wouldn’t that classify you as an employee?

 

Most likely they would add it as an addendum to the contract that the contractor would have to sign. Choose not to sign and be compelled to turn the keys back to them.

 

Why I have trust issues....

 

In light of the last few days I'll just leave this here...

Maybe they took their eyes off the road for more than ten seconds..

More likely with the way people drive in Phoenix it wasn't the drivers fault. People are crazy aggressive there.

 

If they ever try to retrofit my truck with a camera I'll take it elsewhere. No one's going to violate my 5th ammendment rights to protection against self incrimination

 

I'm not sure what I would do if they wanted to retrofit my truck before it was paid off. I have pretty sweet gig right niw running dedicated Coca-Cola products from Waco to Houston.
