You will just have run the numbers for you. New trucks (as of now) have a 24 cent per mile payment. Then figure an average of 8mpg.

Finished inputting my numbers for January. Ended the month with a profit of 49 cents per mile. I'm even going to something I haven't done. I'm going to share the numbers. Keep in mind this my numbers running regional/local to Texas only. Not sure how this compares to OTR when I was OTR....I had my head in my ### when it came to any other number besides mpg. But, live and learn.

Anyway....here is the link for the numbers....Removed to mistake that was found.....

Maintenance Escrow is not on the report because it is considered retained earnings and isn't applicable until you use it.

Now I have. And I guess I proved him right. I'm guaranteed pay for 2500 miles (naturally if I ran more than that in a week I get paid for that but that has yet to happen since I went regional) as long as I'm available 5 days in a 7 day period. Being in Texas....my fuel cost is averaging around $2.509 a gallon with discount. I also only buy my DEF at one location for $1.999 a gallon instead of $2.759 - $2.959 at PFJ. So, that's $10 in savings just on DEF.

Since he went off the website and I'm sure they are using the national avg price of diesel and maybe 7.5 mpg average (not sure what they are using) and I'm averaging almost 8, so, there's the extra penny profit.

And if I wasn't carrying the health insurance settlement deduction (gotta have it though)....I'm sure that would have boosted me over 50 cents a mile profit.

Would be interesting to see a current report for January for an OTR driver though. As we all know those miles can go up and down. But I don't a reason an OTR guy couldn't do the same as me in the grand scheme of things.

Are you counting the first settlement of the year in your numbers? Jan 3?

Yep. That is income for the month. The report is automatically generated by the accounting software. And the mileage is directly from the odometer. Not the dispatched miles.

That's 14,399 hub miles. And I have a 732.34 safety bonus in there adding .05 a mile in profit...so the numbers are a LITTLE skewed. but...settlements so far...

Nice. And I see we use the same software. You're running right at 3600 miles a week. And people say they can't get any miles.

Yeah 464 a day average is about where I sit....And this also includes a trip to the Northwest and back, and two in and outs of California. And no the numbers aren't skewed because I use my own fuel card, that's all settlement fuel expensed in there.
