Tens of thousands of drivers are predicted to quit in the wake of the ELD mandate. New drivers who are used to draconian rules will be needed to fill those seats.

The funny thing is that people blindly following gps is WHY people are hitting low bridges and getting on non truck routes, things this bill says it will prevent....

 

I haven't had a GPS in my truck in over a year. Don't need it.

 

So far just about every time I come out of the house, I end up going to JBS Tolleson.

Every time I do when coming out of the house, the load is not ready, sometimes by 10 hours, one time the load canceled. (That one really pissed me off because I basically gave up a day at home...)

Every time I say "I'm never taking JBS out of the house"...

….So I'm sitting at JBS in Tolleson with the load not ready.....

 

At Schneider we just got introduced to the ELD's. They upgraded our qualcomms to ELD's. I despise this nonsense. I'm just using personal conveyance creatively to overcome the 5 mph trigger. It irritates me. So many scenarios where this idiocy completely ruins my clock and my productivity as a result.

 

Yep its awful. triggered mine in the middle of a 10 hour break while swapping loads.
Don't worry, it'll only get worse from here..

 

I don't care. I won't use PC for moving around the customer. I also don't spend the night at customers anymore.

 

Scotty ... How you going to handle home time after the Jan 1 due to AB5?
