Frankly I'm sick of this crap. It kills my 14 and puts load in jeopardy for OTD.
crxdc Thanks this. -
Last time I read my contract, it said I was responsible for picking up and delivering loads, not repairing someone else's equipment

Jct goes through tires like I go through taco bell...
Aggressively... Two or more at a time...
But I know my problem.... Why do these trailers eat tires? -
-
When does that trailer's annual DOT inspection expire? -
Steel Tiger and scottied67 Thank this.

What I'm getting at is those tires shouldn't have been so chewed up within the annual inspection time. Well, maybe, but wow. Then add another layer of JCT driver after driver pulling the trailer over and over with bad tires. I'm guessing the trailer was way past due for its annual inspection.
I was at Swift for 4 years, they have thousands of trailers, some of which never or hardly ever make it to the terminal for inspections so quite a few trailers slip though the annual inspection stream like that.
I think part of it too is drivers doing too sharp of U turns in parking lots shredding off good tread. Plus it would help to rotate trailer tires around every so often to even out the wear. -
Sometimes I feel like I'm wasting money by getting a CAT Scale ticket after picking up in Lemoore, CA. They always (in my experience) get the weight distribution right the first time. This is with 43,536 in the box and fully fueled and on the California hole. Don't get any more perfect.
scottied67 Thanks this.
