It sucks for you. This is why I try to deter guys from taking jobs with megas. They will ruin your career any way they can. Just stick it out until you can leave. Luckily you're doing the localish tailgating stuff right? At least you won't have to do it all day every day.

Do they have cameras? Actually, that doesn't even matter. You could just ignore their ridiculous orders and follow the law. If anything ever happens you have a bona fide legal stance to rest on if needed.

I’m wondering what cops might think also!

Well there’s a reason now! It’s safety! Safe for you, safe for me. Safety for everyone!

You know what, I slept on it and this is exactly how I felt when I woke up. I’m just going to drive safely no matter which lane that means i need to use.

Send your Division Manager and email asking for the policy in writing and a written guarantee that Schneider will pay for any impeding traffic tickets.

More than likely, this isn't actual policy, but a safety critter gone rouge. The training group has debated this idea for 6 years or so, with the managers generally agreeing that it means "use the center lane through merge points", not run lane 2 all the way around Chicago.

FYI, Ca. state law, CMV can only use middle lane (when 3 lanes same direction) when passing. If you cruise in the middle lane, you be subject to citation. 4 lanes same direction, CMV can use lane 3,4

I believe all laws are wrong!
Through trucks need the left 2 lanes.
    Why!!!? You ask.

get truck traffic from ramps and merging folks who lollygag out infront and slow everyone down.

I would flat out ignore that policy. Here’s a couple reasons why… First it would be a safety issue doing well under the post of speed limit in the center lane. Secondly there is a law that says slower Traffic must keep right so what is Schneider doing telling you to violate the law… I would follow the law and let them do whatever because it could put them in some kind of legal hot water
