Hello , I got a ticket the other day distracted driver I really don’t know what option should I follow ,
Option 1) fight with the ticket and try to dismiss it
Option 2) court says if I watch an online video for an hour it will send me a certification , send that info to court with $100 fine, as in return , it will go to my record with 0 points ,
On the other hand I have a chance to pay $510 to a lawyer but if he / she fails to dismiss it , I’m worried about getting to maximum fine which is $189 + 2 points to my record , this happened in Ohio Cleveland area , my home state is IL . I just don’t know if I fight for the ticket and if lawyer sees that it’s not gonna get dismissed can he still fight for 0 points to my record .
thanks in advance for your replies .

Fight it , the points. Don’t mean much. But that charge won’t look good to an employer .

    Get a local lawyer

Watch their film , take a class whatever and get the charge thrown out all together

You shouldn’t come here looking for legal advice. They’re too many variables, and another person’s adjudication may not turn out to be yours should you follow their advice.

If this is something you feel strongly about, call an attorney. Most don’t charge for a consultation, and even if they do, it’s usually nominal.

I thought rules changed as far as CDL holders being able to get moving violations tossed out?

You fight every ticket, if are absolutely guilty. Pled no contest and be found guilty before you admit guilt. Can't be used against you in future cases.

    What do you think?

You always fight a ticket but the important question is - did you deserve it?
