This is fun… They book a load in Bordentown New Jersey plan me on it… I do some googling and it looks like it comes back to an address of a local bricklayers union local number four somebody Messages CS yesterday CS doesn’t respond to anybody so today I decide to call the phone number and the phone number is disconnected… Oh, how fun… I would think when booking a load you might want to verify the information that would be correct before putting it all through the system… customer service reps are singlehandedly a problem that needs to be addressed and reformed here more than anything else…

Its the warehouse next door. Premier Warehousing. 3275 us-206. Bordentown. Look it up on Maps.

Did that shipper last week. Pull in the gates and go in man door 14 on the corner by the truck gate. There's no office. There is no phone. Check in with the loader. Quick loader. Its about 1.5 miles south of the Loves on the right.

Yesterday's drop and hook went better than expected. It loaded at Americold - Dallas, but wasn't scheduled to be ready until 1500. Got there at 1400, guard tells me the only companies that they're not running behind being preloaded are Prime and Shaffer, mine was ready. Drop and hooked and got out of town before traffic got worse. My delivery was originally set up as a live unload, but Wally World was waiting for the B/L to be sent after I picked up before setting the appointment (officially). Overnight I get a delivery number. When I asked if they had delivery time set yet. They said anytime Saturday, FCFS. Rather than question the after hours staff, I messaged the new guy 1st thing this morning, but before he got to my message, he called to verify my PTA (since I didn't have an appointment time, I tentatively set it for 2359 until I got an appointment). He checked, and poof, my live unload was changed to a drop and hook. (Which is good because the reviews for live unloads at this DC are horrible at best). A few hours later, I get a preplan. Live load in Duncan, SC tomorrow afternoon headed for a Monday drop in Bentonville. I know this is counting my chickens before the eggs are layed, but after I drop in Bentonville Monday morning, I will have 1851 miles. If I don't top 3000 next week, would anyone blame me if I got pissed?

In the old days, we would just tell them that "I'm not hauling logs, so I don't need a log book"... (With a smile on your face)

Officer - "let me see your logbook"
Driver - "hold on a second, I need to dig out the one that's legal"

On the topic of "lazy drivers only want to drive 400 miles a day" - 400 miles a day, 25 days a month is 10,000 miles. Which gets them into bonus territory.

I think it's less about the miles per day and more about making appointment times. IE being willing to start early or end late to make that O'Dark-Thirty appointment. I also hypothesize that appointment times are the culprit behind SSB's 'lack of miles'. In my experience it can be cheaper/more beneficial to have a truck sit for an extra 10 hours on a load and ensure OTD than it is to try and relay it. It's counterintuitive until you both dig down into the details and zoom out to see the big picture.

I also can't really blame drivers for wanting to shut down by 1700. Parking is beyond ridiculous. WI State Patrol and the Kenosha Sheriffs department can't kick out all the ramp parkers because there literally isn't any place for them to park. Sure there are a few pay spots open in the TA and the Petro (good luck backing into the open spots in the Petro), but not nearly enough to accommodate all the trucks on the ramps. The weigh station is full, every 'fake spot' is full. Even South Beloit has gotten crowded - 10 years ago you'd have a decent chance of finding a pull through at 2300.

I've got one of the units that has a phantom yellow alarm in it's system. Since I shut down yesterday, I started randomly getting a message on the Peoplenet about the unit having a yellow alarm for a system it hasn't had to use (starter solenoid system on a continuous run load). There are no active alarms in the system and it is running fine, but it has triggered the system to message my Peoplenet 4x...but I have only gotten 1 message from 1 dispatcher just recently requesting I check the unit. The last time I had this happen with a different unit, breakdown said to keep an eye on it in case it goes active again, otherwise ignore it. Technology, great when it works, otherwise annoying when it malfunctions.

I used to get those false alarms on Prime trailers all of the time. Pain in the rump.
