Now Drivewyze just refuses to do anything, unless the cell network is down around the Knoxville scales. I checked before leaving Lenoir, and then fhecked again at the Alcoa customer, it's active. I approach the east bound scale and...nothing. No "pull in unless closed" or "follow signs", nothing. I may contact safety and see if we can get Prepass out of our own pocket like we used to do years ago and turn this garbage Drivewyze off.

 

Unless the cell network the truck uses for the tablet gateway is down, then it wouldn't have any communication with it's mainframe. Between that and not having the ability to force a downshift after the software update (along with the other unfavorable changes), I have decided that if Brakebush doesn't call by the end of the year, that I will move somewhere else and get away from this disfunctional adult daycare for dementia patients.

After they updated my truck, when I went to leave Valentino's with my pasta, it decided that 2nd gear was all it would use. It redlined when I pulled out, and stayed there until I threw it in neutral and coasted a few truck lengths, then put it back in gear. Then it dropped into 4th and started working again. Today, backing up a slight grade with 40,000, it put itself in R² to try to back up, then it slipped the clutch until it hopped, stuttered and jerked like Jimmy Stewart on a pogo stick.

 

mine works without a transponder hanging over the road, even with the roadside inspection locations where they set up portable scales.

 

It must have been bad cell service causing it because the NC scale near Asheville gave me the bypass
