The Hunt shop here in Omaha has a totally different attitude than the Creaffer shop in PA. This guy already has a plan of attack concerning my idle issue, said it sounds to him like a ground cable or possibly one of the a power cable....but with the inverter acting up, not getting a good ground is more likely the culprit. But, Op's had me pu the load to TX and drop it here, so I had to wait until 13:30 for a live load, then t'call it here. Managed to get here and write the truck up just before quitting time, so he said be ready for a 6 am wake-up knock. Told him, 6...I'll already have my 2nd cup of java by then so I'll be bright eyed and bushy tailed.

Oh, and another decent place to live load...US Cold Storage in La Vista NE.

Mine does not, but mine is older than yours, and has different controls.

Well, progress with my truck. The shop foreman just updated me on their progress. Apparently when a previous driver had batteries replaced on the road, the service truck replaced his truck batteries with lower powered CAR batteries instead of higher amp truck batteries. So, he is putting good batteries in it. And the worst part of this, the idiots in New Kingstown didn't notice. He said a bunch of my issues can be caused by low voltage. I get to test it tonight and report back to him in the morning.

That's hilarious. It pretty much means that they didn't even look at the batteries they just hooked up the tester and said yeah, looks good to me.

Yeah. I was actually going to bring up possible battery type issues today, but I see I don't need to. Opti-idle trucks need a specific type of truck battery too, neither starting batteries or deep cycle batteries will work well. There is a battery type between the extremes that opti-idle trucks need.

I think they use the AGM batteries. More vibration resistance and more tolerant to repeated charge/discharge cycles. Batteries in, and on a brief Home Depot run, it seems that the hanging in gear issue may have been resolved. They drove it before giving me the key to drive it and it seemed to do ok after a brief break and the inverter doesn't cut off when you crank the engine. However, I still don't have the ability to force an up/down shift with the shift lever. I will test the opti-idle with the bunk heater on tonight, but it seems better. I have sat here with the opti-idle on over an hour with the phone plugged in and my cooler running...and the thing hasn't given me the comfort load disconnect beep yet. Tomorrow I get new steers and a trip to the alignment shop.
