Well, the batreries indeed helped. Went back thru my logs (which engine start and stop are recorded) and on the old batteries I would go an average of 1 3/4 hrs between shutdown and startup, and in ID a couple weeks ago, in 5 1/2 hrs with nothing but a cooler running, it started 2x. After new batteries installed, w/o bunk heater running, it didn't start (or beep with the load sheading msg) in over 3 hours, once I started the bunk heater, the average off time was between 3 1/4 and 3 1/2 hours, but it was a mild 30°ish night so the heater didn't run much. Hope Deland is happy. This is as much as I am doing to remedy this situation. I have no idea if the opti-idle comfort mode snafu is fixed because it doesn't work when the ambient outside temp is as mild as it was during the day yesterday.

Voltage/current issues in modern trucks can cause all sorts of weird-### problems.

Electronics give so many benefits for precise control of truck components, but when the electrical system is off, things can go FUBAR very easily.

I had a few days off to do my taxes in Feb, then a 34 at the house in March (which reset my days out back to 0). I was gonna go home this weekend, but Mrs. Snackbar's farmers market is participating in our town's Pioneer Days festival all weekend, so I wouldn't get to spend much time with her so I'm heading home for Mother's Day instead.

They're having me move a load that was t'called on the Hunt yard over to the Joliet drop yard to t'call it there. It doesn't deliver in NC until next Friday. Even with 40 hours in the shop, I will still turn 2600ish miles this week and be really close to 10k already. But, the bad news, on the way back from the alignment shop to pick up this load at the yard...the inverter started kicking off and on with bumps, so it wasn't a bad battery or bad cables, but I had already said I was ready to roll, so I guess I will have to live with it for now.

    Lonesome and Farmerbob1 Thank this.

The inverter itself might be bad

Snackboss must have a very understanding wife as long as he’s gone. Either that or Jose the gardener is taking up the slack for him while he’s gone. He’s not making nearly enough money to put up with the truck bs or be gone as long as he is.
