Depends on your perspective. From what we heard of his last employer, he's probably enjoying himself right now. Well, he will be after his inverter is fixed :p

Maybe so. He’s complained about a lot of different stuff.

As long as I've been doing this, we have developed two separate worlds. When I am home, I disrupt her world. She is so set in her daily/weekly routine she is almost OCD about it. Plus she takes care of 4 of the grandkids after they get off the bus until their other granny picks them up on the way home from work (she lives across the street from my daughter and her husband). She is so busy between grandkids, her farmers market management and her own small market vendor business, she doesn't have time to squeeze in a little side action. Besides, we have wifi cameras in a lot of the house so she can keep an eye on the dog when she's gone and can't take the dog with her...and we have the Life 360 apps on our phones, so if I want to watch for José stopping by, or if she's stopping by José's place, it would show. She has no problem with me being gone as long as the pay is worth my time away...and $85-90k/yr has that covered.

that's what Marietta said when they checked it, but didn't have one. New Kingstown was as convinced it wasn't bad as they were sure my batteries were good...and it's PA, so they knew more than everyone else, so they didn't replace it. Maybe it'll burn the truck down, and kill two birds with one stone

If that works for you guys that’s perfect. I make $4K less than that and I’m home every weekend. I know you don’t live in an area to pull that off. But staying out as long as you do might be part of the reason you seem so miserable most of the time on your thread.

Honestly, you have tunnel vision. I have said more than once that if we could get the truck issues resolved I would be content here. Yes I get grumpy and rant a bit...it's called venting. But if I had to go back to a schedule like you work, I would be either in the nut house, divorce court or jail. I worked a 'home on the weekend' job early in my career and HATED EVERY MINUTE. I was way more irradiated at every little thing, I accomplished less during hometime and my BP was borderline because I had no real outlet to relieve stress because I wouldn't fully relax in such a short time before having to ramp up and get ready to go again. If it works for you, great, but it would be pure hell for me. Trucking for you sounds like it's your job, for me it's the lifestyle I choose.

You are right about that. Trucking for me is not a lifestyle. For 41 yrs I’ve did this for a living but I’m not married to any job I’ve had. I’ve made a good living but didn’t have to live in a truck to accomplish it. If your lifestyle works for you and your spouse I’m happy for you. Just hope you can get your truck bs figured out and find peace in your life. Threatening to quit another job every other week doesn’t seem like fun but if that keeps you going so be it.

The battery swap has made a huge difference. Dropped the t'called load at the Joliet drop yard, and there were no empties, which is o.k. because I was planning on taking a break at the little truckstop down the road anyway. Shut down, went in to the mexican place inside and got some really good authentic tacos (not the taco bell or taco john americanized version), watched a little Netflix and hit the hay. Didn't need heat or A/C. About 7 hours after I parked, the truck ran 1 time for an hour and fifteen minutes. Guess Deland's Assistant Manager is gonna have to find something else to ##### about because it appears my idle issue has been resolved. It'll be interesting to see how much of a difference this improved idle time has on my fuel mpg's.

All of these newer trucks seem to have wiring harness issues also. I too was having an invertor problem and our shop couldn't figure it out. It finally went to Freightliner last weekend and they discovered the bad harness.
