I always enjoy the reporting this time of year. Listening to these people makes you want to run into the doomsday shelter.

Not sure why they stand out in the rain and wind anyway... Breaking news, a hurricane that produces wind and heavy rain, imagine that oddity....my mama told me as a youngin to get in out of the rain.

Puffin here been speaking to other fellow noisy puffins about an ongoing issue worth exposing and I blame the ams allowing it go on not the driver who wants the nice easy long miles...there are drivers exploiting this split system 8/2, 7/3 where you're running out your 70 quicker...here's the issue some drivers are running the easy clean long run miles and dumping their live portions with 240 and under miles on sucker drivers...now if a driver does this over and over getting the nice long haul miles and dumping the aspect where we usually get stuck and our times wasted (live load portion)...anyways these drivers also get to maximize miles doing this...I blame the AM for allowing this occur...I've had one am try to dump a load like this on me near Mechanicsburg that sh88Y loves fuel solution where at 6pm on a weekday they wanted me to go to Delaware for a live unload cause their driver "ran out of hours" to finish the run...OK once twice but supposedly some drivers do this all the time...that's bs...if you commit to a load you should assess if you can deliver and factor in where you're going traffic etc that's our job...once again there are some that will take a nice over 1k run use the split schedule get the nice smooth miles and "run out of hours" when with the delivery End of the run...but this is planned ahead of time...any AM allowing this should be held accountable...I reject these loads and am starting to confront the dispatchers asking why are you allowing your drivers commit to something they don't plan on fulfilling...its total bs...be aware of this con no driver should have an edge or be receiving special treatment over other drivers...if you commit than deliver if you continue to run out of hours with the last 250 and under miles Left and there's a pattern someone needs to investigate that driver and am....IMO this won't ever happen due to extra costs it would be ideal if there were local drivers across the board that relay live loads to use otr runners...we do the run meet with that local driver basically do a tcall with them they bring us our next preloaded trailer and they bring our load to get unloaded but are paid by the hour but thats all they do and they'd be local sleep at home paid hourly etc...I think we'd be able to move a bunch more freight and detention pay to driver would be eliminated and replaced by hours pay for those local relay drivers for us runners...perfect world doesn't exists i know but it would be nice...stay safe make those miles and enjoy the sightseeing out there...
