If you could smell how bad it smells, you wouldn't be so optimistic

I was wrong...it isn't wet cat food in my trailer, it WAS greek yogurt. The containers that were split open were dry the trailer has been sitting so long. And the ones not split open were solidified and bulging.. I wore 2 covid masks so I could enter the trailer to pu the trash. I could still smell the rotting garbage...a driver that left a trailer like that had better have been on his way to the hospital with severe Covid, other than that, there is no excuse.

So far the only issue I have had has been waiting 24 hours on a trailer to be loaded but other than that reefer has been good. Oh and where are all the drop n hooks! So far all 4 loads I've done have been live on both ends other than 1, which was preloaded. Miss my back to back drop n hooks from the van side already.

Have yet to wash out a trailer.

Well, my washout didn't deodorize as well as it should...I even let it sit overnight with a pound of Foldgers coffee in it to absorb the odor before washing it out. But the security didn't say anything. Then the trailer I was picking up had a nail in the tire and it was sloooooowly inflating with the tire inflation system, but I was going right by the Love's to get back on the interstate, so I stopped in for a tire fix/replacement. That's strike 2...if I get another bad trailer on the next load, it just might be strike 3. A trailer problem once in a while is normal in trucking, but this often is just insane.

If you’re insinuating that trailer problem is a specific fleet problem… you’ve been in this business long enough to know that no matter what company you’re at there are too many drivers that will drop a trailer with obvious defects that need to be fixed instead of getting it fixed or notifying the company To have it fixed at the drop site…

Yup every company you’ll have a bad streak of equipment. Yesterday the truck I was assigned had a big cut in the sidewall on one of the tires. Refused to drive it to the shop since the tire seemed like a ticking time bomb. They give me another truck with an expired cab card/plates. Finally the third truck I was able to take.

Why I’m glad, both, the tractor and trailer are assigned to me. Eliminates dealing with lazy drivers’ issues.
