It’s got nothing to do with Paccar. It’s your company and what ever nanny crap they decide to put on their trucks. I drive a Pete 389 with an ungoverned, non nanny b.s. truck powered by a Paccar engine with almost 700k miles. The ONLY non maintenance repairs ever done since new? Alternator, power divider, NoX sensor, radiator. That’s it in 700k miles.

These cheapskate, POS megas ruin their trucks by governing them, putting stupid #### like “opti idle”, all other kind of non-sense ######## on them, and then wonder why they constantly have to repair them.

Comparing my own truck, I can’t see where these companies save any money with all that crap. In fact, I’ve had numerous mechanics say these companies bring a LOT of issues on themselves with these #### rolling road block trucks.

The peterbilt 579 i had was the biggest pos on earth…the paccar motor sucked witg the emissions system on it..spent more time in the shop than on the road.

Yeah my truck fortunately is devoid of driver assistance tools as well, a Pete 567. When @supersnackbar and I drove at Magnum their adaptive cruise frequently we out and disconnecting it failed the system.

579s are plastic bumper crap. Was it automatic? We bought some 579s with auto. Owner couldn’t get rid of those POS fast enough.

The only negative we’ve found with Paccar is they have sensors out the arse. But, the 389s with ten speeds and our newer trucks (389s) with 13 speeds have all been bullet proof. But, again, they’re not governed and don’t have any nanny crap, baby sitting b.s. on them.

Frank, you just don't get it. Truck driving is a monkey's job. Just get a fleet of automatic trucks, pack them full of cattle prods and tattletales and anyone can do it.

    Right? ;)

Although I’m on the Crete side,I’d like to rant about my breakdown experience.(1/15~ ?)
Yellow engine light is on….Columbus shop said they cleaned the filter, and I head to Main where the light comes back on.I pick up a load to Florida, and the Yellow engine light returns.
Miles down the road, the Check engine light comes on,but I’m almost into New York City.
Then it derated to 55,and I get sent to a shop but they can’t take the trailer.
I have been waiting for them to send someone to get this trailer,so I can go to the shop.Woke up and red engine light is on to 5MPH.Now it needs to be towed to shop, after someone takes the trailer.
