Texas DMV is backed up right now it seems. Next available date for me to take the hazmat is not till April 28th and other DMVs near me next available time is all the way till June
Also didn't realize we now need to take some test BEFORE we take the test. Says only first time hazmat applies need to take it but then it lists who's exempt and just mentions those with current endorsements before the change.
Can't even make an appointment for fingerprints in Texas till you pass your hazmat test. Probably will take 3 months to get my hazmat and twic back again![]()

Almost had to pay an escort on a load out of Houston when picking up monkey chow. Rather than picking up at that dirt lot warehouse it was to be picked up right at the pier from the boat and a twic is needed to get in. That or a $80 escort fee paid. Load was removed before I got to Houston so don't know if canceled or someone else with a twic sent to grab it.
Twic is cheaper to get if you already have your hazmat endorsement as well as arrive faster if done less that 1 year after hazmat fingerprint test. For me the closest place is in San Antonio so not to far. Just trying to schedule everything on hometime days can be hard if everyplace is booked out.Lonesome Thanks this. -

The DMVs also usually have 5 walk in spots available for first come first served purposes so will also be checking whenever I get to the house if I can pop in early.
