$80? What a bargain. Back when I was at Crete, I picked up at a port south of Houston. The escort company charged $200, and Crete didn't bat an eye at cutting me a Comcheck to cover it.

Yah, port seemed to have lowered the cost from what the reviews on Google have said.

No but we have a few drivers that live in Tennessee. There’s plenty of freight passing through and enough customers there. Not sure how they handle the remote parking situation but definitely give them a call if you’re interested.

@supersnackbar I remember you wrote about your 34 reset being ruined because the peoplenet ELD kicked you into drive and your safety department couldn't change/cancel the drive time.

Well, I don't work for Crete/Shaffer but I do have Peoplenet. And sure enough several days ago I was on my 34 hour reset, was in off duty PC and in the middle of driving it did a "diagnostic" and automatically kicked me onto the drive line, thus ruining my 34 hour reset. The bad thing is is that I ran hard to deliver my load early enough so that I could get a 34 hour reset in, because I knew I had load coming from the Midwest out West and I like to get a full clock on these types of runs if I can.

Safety department at my company tried everything he could but he couldn't change/cancel out the drive time. And he said the DOT won't give them the option of simply changing the drive time either.

So yeah, I wasn't very happy about that, that stupid Peoplenet tablet is going to cost me money because the stupid thing ruined my 34 hour reset that I ran so hard to get (and thus putting myself in a great position of having a full clock going out West).

I'm not blaming DOT for this, I understand why they do it (other low life companies will abuse it). That said, PeopleNet needs to make it so that the tablet CANNOT do a "diagnostic" at any time during Off Duty PC, so that this doesn't happen to drivers. Although it's the 1st time the tablet has kicked me into drive during Off Duty PC while using the PeopleNet tablet, so hopefully this is a rare event and won't happen again.

Anyone doing a dedicated coast to coast i10 run? Snack bar do you have a preference in lanes or style of driving (otr, dedicated, regional) or just want a better overall outfit, equipment, left alone but run efficiently?

Found a dmv with with a open date around when I'm suppose to be routed home. Only downside it's a 3 hour drive to the place.....I can just imagine driving the whole way and forgetting some document or worse...fail the test...

The only thing that will require any effort is the Haz Mat test. Read the Texas DMV manual Haz Mat section 2, 3 times, however many times it takes. Questions are simple and are taken directly from the manual. It’s just a matter of memorization. In the event you fail, they let you come back the next day but being three hours from home that could be a hassle.
