Understandable. I would recommend the company I am at but judging by the way It seems you like to run I don’t know if we cover enough ground for ya. You’d also be taking a pay cut. But our trucks don’t have all the extra safety stuff besides the six ‘22 internationals we have, they also still have some 10 speed manual Pete’s, health insurance from day one, and no micromanaging and by that I mean I haven’t heard from my dispatcher since last Thursday.

I wouldn’t call that penny pinching. 800 numbers are flippin outrageously expensive and outdated technology. Costs the same to place a call to an 800 number than it does to a local number. They only exist anymore because it’s a pain to change numbers in most cases.

So, I either call Lincoln and go thru who knows how many menu choices to talk to a terminal, or I have to carry around that silly useless load book just in case I need to call a shop.... what's next, a keyless code we have to enter every time we want to start our truck...hell, I don't even know Deland's local line. And when I am home without cell service in the house, and I need to talk to Deland, I have to make a long distance call from my landline? Before cell phones, I had my own 800#...it wasn't that expensive...but they'll waste money out the wazoo on ordering parts like they did with those trailer leaf springs for a trailer I had, then have them shipped back..but they ##### about transflowing from a truckstop, idling a little over the average of the fleet or the cost of a terminal's 800 number. How about we save some real money and fire everyone in the redundant message department...and why do we have so many VPs of this that and the other...trim the fat in Lincoln and quit making things more of a PITA for the people who generate revenue for the rest of the cubicle dwellers.

Well, somebody likes me. Over the last couple weeks, I have been sent 3 $100 gift cards for Amazon from Unilever(thru Shaffer), recognizing me for getting the month end loads delivered on time and without any damage claims.

Unilever the soap company? Or is Unilever like Nestle in the sense they have about 57 different brands under their name umbrella?

I had an 800 number in the pre-cell phone crap era too. I wanted it so I could call home from any pay phone.

Unilever is like P&G...they have products from soap to ice cream. There are Unilever cold storage loacations all over the place. One of the cards came from an Edwardsville warehouse load, and one came from a load from what use to be Atlas Cold Storage next to the ice cream plant in Sikeston MO. The third I just got today, but the Ops Manager didn't tell me which plant I pulled the load out of.
