Talked to the President of the company today and he stated they’re still deciding which ones they want and under no circumstances will there be any inward facing cams only forward facing..

I have no problem with having an outward facing camera, as long as they aren't the ones like the AI nanny-cams like were installed in my former SPD truck. I have had my own personal dashcam since I was a glass hauler at Moore.

Well, I am back at this thread and will continue my montage of adventures over here now that I am back a Shaffer.

My fuel stop on this trip is the Marietta yard. As windy as it was last night after unloading (that took 5 hours - but I had 4400 pieces) I decided to spend the night. I get to the yard and...the fuel kiosk you use to turn on the pumps was down. So I get to at least top off the reefer at the Petro in Atlanta before dropping this trailer in McDonough and picking up my 'home to get my stuff' visit. Man this yard was packed, I had to end park in the back lot. And when I was pulling out of yesterday's delivery location into their overnight parking area, I got a check engine light (actually I had 2, the regular amber engine MIL and another amber engine light with "check" on it). After I shut down to scan in my paperwork, when I restarted my truck, only the regular MIL stayed on. It has something to do with the inlet temperature for the DPF being too low. Maybe it'll go out once I start hauling a load and make the engine work hard enough to generate enough heat to trigger a rolling regen.

I’ve had random CEL’s come on on all the recent Freightshakers i’ve driven. I usually ignore them unless the truck starts to run different, and the breakdown guys at my company have advised the same. Apparently it’s some wonky software with the DEF system (imagine that)

Mine hasn’t came on in awhile but my truck only has 67k on it. I’m surprised by how major the damage was in my accident back last September, especially with the frame being tweaked, that i would’ve had issues when i got it back. But i’ve put 16k trouble free miles on it. Only issues with it is that the steering wheel is off center (truck still travels straight) and the internal date and time thinks it’s 2007

Back when we had the Maxxfarce Internationals, they basically said the same thing, if the little amber light comes on, ride with it for a while. If it was a mis-read on one of the sensors, it'll take a certain number of clean starts before it'll clear itself. This truck had 102k on the clock when I got it, so I am hoping that all the bugs have been worked out. The previous driver had to get out of it because it had to go to the shop, and he/she was with the company for a while (there is a 12 on the 'years at Crete' part of the bragging sticker. With their policy of swapping you out of a truck if it's down more than 48 hrs, I don't know why they waste their money on those stupid stickers anyway)

I have been a alot of companies over the years, I work Western Dedicated, GP. I have been very happy with Heartland, I drive a manual Cascadia, not great but certainly not the worst, my only complaint is the truck wash policy. I run Salt Lake City, Live in Socal get home to reset, make about 1400 a week take home. Not bad over all Kim is a great manager, only talk to her if theres an issue. GEnerally I have my next load the day before I need it.

I was looking to drive for CFI once upon a time but got skeptical when Heartland bought them. I’ve heard some horror stories out of North Liberty

CFI trucks still run CFI loads, I never pull CFI trailers even. They keep me busy, can not tell you about anyone else. Learned along time ago not to pay attention to what other drivers are doing, run my loads, my way, no problems.

I saw an odd Crete Cascadia truck yesterday. It was the first gen style with the split windshield. It was blue but not the usually Shaffer/Crete blue, similar but different. It had the usual Crete letters on the side but they were on the dog box and not on the doors. Also it didn't have any fairings, they weren't missing it was a truck that never had them. It was pulling a common Crete dry van.

Mightve been an owner/op. Did you notice if the number was 4 or 5 digits? Company trucks are 5 digits.

Got a weird load. Picked up a tcall in Lincoln going to socal, but shipper was down in Topeka, idk why it was brought here. Also, not a shaffer trailer, on a transam trailer. Hopefully I'm not screwed on weight. It's 40k but tandems were kinda far back for CA. Slid them forward and need to scale.
