It's not just the daily calls on Tyson that helped form my opinion. I look at all the 'reminder' messages we get, all the automated safety/speeding/scale reminders we get. And let us not forget all the weekly reminders we get on the YouTube updates. I am surprised they don't make all drivers go thru a "thinking for yourself " certification class every year.

that's who I delivered to on my last load. All 3 stops. Friendly folks and quick unloading. I'd deliver to them anytime.

My preferred time is rolling out by 2 or 3 am, done before 4 or 5 pm. That lets you get some miles in before the busiest part of the morning rush, but allows you to be done before the worst of the evening rush and before all the solar powered drivers take up all the parking spots.

As far as flip-flopping schedules, it really doesn't effect me much. In fact, with no harder than they run me, it actually helps some days because I need to run in order to get tired enough to get into that good zombie level of sleep, and 300 miles a day doesn't even come close to getting me tired. As far as taking a toll on my body, not really. In my younger days, when I ran paper logs (sometimes 3 or 4 alternate log realities) I would turn 4000 miles in a 65 mph truck(and no, nowhere close to legal), and be home for part of one day on the weekend, so this is a walk in the park compared to back then.

Ton of new parking at wilmer…the spots upfront aren’t that bad…problem is many are parking bobtails in the spots too.

Pro tip: when you reach in to flip your food after pulling out the basket out of your air fryer, don't rest your arm on the side of it. This happened a week or so ago and now i have a scar Screenshot_20250617_204524_Gallery.jpg

I was going by Atkins VA this afternoon and saw at least 20 new Shaffer trailers at the Utility plant off of I81. Bunch of new doors for you folks to swing.

I have many scars like that from the month I worked at a Waffle House before becoming a truck driver. I burned myself on something on the daily lol

Today should be fun, I get to traverse through Atlanta three times today. Deliver North of Atlanta this morning, reload in Lithonia, Ga. later this morning heading to Chicago area, so get to fight my way back North.

Not sure what I ever did to the load planners, but the are going to get their pound of flesh out of me today.

Slight SNAFU. Got to the customer, followed security's instructions...got gruffed at by the yard driver. Security told me to park in the lower lot then check in with receiving...which is wrong, according to the yard guy, "they don't run things here, we do", to which I replied, I did what I was told, where do you want this trailer instead of here. He told me to just drop it where it is, he'll move it. So, I did what I was told. Got my paperwork signed, bobtailed to shipping and, my load isn't ready because they didn't have an empty. The only empty on the yard had the landing gear start to buckle when they went to load it, so now I am waiting for the next Shafter to come in and pick up the only outbound load(and hope they have an empty) so I can get my load loaded.

Oh, and that truckstop in Jackson, OH (used to be called A & A) it is being converted to a T/A, but their fuel pump system hasn't been updated yet, and they don't currently take EFS. So, when I went to top off the reefer, I ended up paying cash...so if anyone is dropping in Wellston General Mills and needs to top off the reefer before hand, don't plan on that T/A just yet.
