Release your trailer break for 5 to 10 minutes works for me every time. When you first hook up there isn't a whole lot of air in that trailer this is why you release the breaks even better high idle
Tandem pins will not retract, lack of air pressure?

Did you try using a hammer to knock those things in? -
Anybody have any advice for an older trailer, cannot pull the tandem pull bar no matter what i do, there is too much pressure to pull the bar out and release tandems. Have tried trailer brakes in and out and have rocked it back and forth to get the pins in the middle of the holes, no luck.

I like to carry 4 larger vice grips as well, sometimes the handle is busted, beat the pins in and press in with the beater handle then vice grip the pins on the inside of the rails to hold them in. Pawn the trailer off onto the next unsuspecting driver as quick as possible. -

Sometimes it's just enough to release if it's in a binddancecanyon, Bean Jr. and Diggler Thank this. -
That's what a 5lb sledgehammer is for?

get it rolling and yank the hand brake, then set the trailer brakes and push backwards on the trailer she will break loose.
