Depends on what you are hauling. I know that sounds like a ######## answer, but it's the truth. If you haul mostly insulation, then no. If you haul mostly A/Cs, then yes. If you haul lumber, no, steel, yes.....

    Almost.

It’s a very specific need question.

Yes. Don't haul anything that needs lumber traps. Lol
Maybe if everything you haul short

I get by mostly with 4’ tarps. I have had to turn down a few good paying loads that needed fall 8’ drops, but I’ve hauled more than enough loads that only needed 4’ that paid well.

Only you can answer your question via reflection on the past and envisioning possible future needs.

    If I was only hauling steel I would get a 12x32ft and a 16x16ft.

The 2ft drop tarp would cover all the steel and the 16x16 would cover a coil.

I personally carry an 8ft and a 4ft drop set because I haul whatever pays good in the area I’m in. However I do a lot of steel and 99.9% of the time a 10x20 tarp would probably cover it.

I know this is an older thread, but I’m wondering if anyone can help me with who manufactures TMC’s tarps ? I like the feel of these tarps as they are more rubbery feeling then my normal 18oz 4-6-8ft tarps I own now. Mainly looking for something that is more plyable and easier to roll up tighter when it’s cold because I store them in my 24x24x60 toolbox instead of on the deck. Also if anyone is using Deroche canvas, are their tarps more rubber feeling ? I’ve only ever seen them rolling down the road, and they appear to be. Thanks ahead of time.

I don't carry 8' lumber tarps. I do all tarp jobs with 2 6' drop steel tarps.
