    Thanks frank
Yeah I'm trying to think ahead of the curve ; most companies that use. " hire- right " or dac reports , usually put a bunch of negative information about the driver .

So i plan to ask for a copy of my employee file , which I'm sure will a shiver up someone's spine and THEN politely ask what will be put on my dac report.

I do have grounds for a law suit against one of their customers but i don't plan on following through with it unless things get ugly , amongst other issues that could cost them alot of money BUT i honestly don't want to pursue such things and merely hope they are smart enough to be reasonable .....and leave me alone to walk away without a mess

If I were you, I would go about quitting this way:

    - Request home time and try to time it so that you get all the pay your owed, if possible.
    - Once your home, clean out the truck.
    - It's best if you park at a terminal, but if not, call them up and let them know you're resigning and let them know you'll be happy to take the truck wherever they'd like as long as it's reasonable and provided they pay you to do it. Otherwise, you'll safeguard it for them until they arrange for pick up. They can't get you for abandonment because you're not under a load and you actually are still in possession of the truck.

And, I wouldn't even bring up the subject regarding the DAC. Just check it after you leave, if that's a concern.

    Yes sir ....
This is a local job , tomarrow i will request to see the HR ladie
Ask for copies of my employee file
Then file a workmens comp claim for the bed bugs that were in their equipment , which have turned my house upside down and very costly

And politely let them know things could even more uglier if the authorities got involved , im completely locked & loaded with pictures , video , and tabs with accurate dates. And friends who are x- drivers with more information about their dangerous operations
But ....i don't want it to go that far

I also have more fire but choose not to use it unless they get mean

i won't mention their name on this forum but they are known to destroy drivers any way they can , they are friendly snakes that will turn on the driver if he doesn't jump through hoops or be a sport against dot laws

Which by the way , i myself have been very reasonable with them on this to a certain extent , but sometimes it's like feeding the bears once you start doing this you better not run out of food

    Preemptive measures.
I take preemptive measures when it comes to the DAC. If I know I’m no longer going to be with a company, I notify HireRight. That’s really not how they do things over there but that’s just what I do.

I send an email of what’s about to transpire, the location of the tractor and photographs of the equipment. Everything is documented long before the Trucking company even posts an entry on the transcript. HireRight has been the subject of a few class action lawsuits in the past for placing arbitrary and egregious entries on drivers transcripts, so they’re not gonna balk too much if they get an email from you.

Always (And I cant stress this enough). Always CYA. Be meticulous, be clinically methodical. Make your departure ironclad to the extent where the company has absolutely no wiggle room to try to pull a fast one.

Let me give you an example.
I left an orientation in Georgia one time from a company that I later learned was notorious for baiting and switching. I left because what they were discussing in orientation did not reflect what their recruiter told me. So I left. A few weeks later I learned they had posted a pernicious and ambiguous entry on my transcript:

“Quit Or was dismissed from orientation”
    WHAT!!

I was mortified. I contacted HireRight and asked them to get in touch with that company and please clarify. Which was it? Did I quit or was i dismissed? HireRight agreed and asked the company to be more specific. So the company complied and put down “Quit orientation”
I then sent another email stating that I was never employed at the company and so technically why would there even be an entry for a non employee in the first place. HireRight agreed again and removed the entry completely.

What that company was basically trying to do was place a narrative on my transcript that would make me look like a malcontent and subsequently thwart any future employment from other potential trucking companies. They tried to sabotage me. Some companies love to gaslight an outgoing driver. It’s just one of those ugly tactics they use to try to get back at you for leaving.
Always stay on your HireRight transcripts and know what is being said about you. Knowing is half the battle.

Unfortunately it's normal with Iowa companies... last time I worked at a now-defunct company out of that state I had to use one of those machines.

    Well said brother
....i myself have been involved with a class action law suit against "hire right"
I knew that system would be used as a weapon against all drivers
