I was at a really tight dock and it was packed! I am new been out here for 4 months. The last thing I want to do is hit another drivers truck. To take down someone’s lively hood for even one day would hurt so bad and kill my confidence. There were to drivers there that got out immediately and started to help me out. They stuck with me the 15 minutes it took me to get it in safely. I just want to say thank you to all you experienced drivers willing to help us newbies out here. Ever time you do that it makes me a better and safer driver.

Thank you for to all the pros!

Good on you taking your time. It's not a race. All that matters is getting into the hole without hitting anything. Speed will come with practice.

When I was OTR, I would fairly often get out of the truck and go help another driver who was struggling to back into a spot, especially one of the last available middle ones in a tight or poorly laid out truck stop. I'm pretty good at backing, but every once in a while, someone would help me as well.

There is plenty to be cynical about out on the road (and much of it is even warranted) but at the end of the day it's only us fellow drivers out here looking out for one another.

    Stay safe, driver.

You'll also notice FB drivers helping each other rolling tarps etc.

I read that as "Facebook Drivers" initially :)

They tend to stay in their cabs and film rather than help.

Just a word of caution: unless that "ground guide" is a truck driver, I'd be careful and not trust him too much... dock workers don't always understand the geometry behind backing, and they often overlook clearance issues, trailer swing, etc. Just sayin'... ;)

Do remember to get a clear set of hand signals going. You are still 100% responsible.

And don’t ever be in a rush, or feel pressured.

Always stop immediately if you lose sight of your spotter. They will move when you stop till your eyes are locked again.
