We came back with other products crates and 2 liters shells. We would reuse it to repack our product lol.

I work for the biggest Pepsi subsidiary in the east coast. Here we drive side load trailers and are the salesman as well. Most routes have 7-10stops a day. Some stops are daily, twice a week and once a week. I have 23 total stops on my route. Now, that may seem like nothing but when you have to hang signage, rotate product, deliver, get paid and make a order for the next delivery, time adds up. However, here lately I've only been working about 35 hours a week. We are paid commission though, so you get paid by what you take into the stores. Most winter weeks are roughly 700-800/we gross. Summer checks are usually 1200-1400 gross. Most routes are delivered by Dolley unless you have a small grocery store that sells enough to unload a couple pallets once a week and merchandise every day.
Low end routes average 45k, most routes are 55, and some are 60-70k. I still think about LTL/food service but am afraid of leaving and wishing I didn't.unloader Thanks this. -
Business is picking up and so are my hours. I think the winter slump is over and its going to be 60-70 hours a week from here on out... well at least till it slows down again come November, December, January. I will definitely plan for these months in the future.
Not going to lie, I am definitely looking forward to getting back to the status quo. More work, yes, but #### those checks are sweet! Sure I could make $1000+ plus per week on the road, but that means hustling for miles and that is simply something I don't care to do anymore.
Had a few inches of snow here in CO the last few days. Makes for an interesting day, not just driving, but dollying product through some of these unplowed parking lots. I promise you nothing sucks more than busting your ### pushing a hundred pounds or so of product on a dolly.

Well the OTR itch is getting to me. Looking to go back out on the road end of March. Need to wrap up a few loose ends here and there, then make the jump back into it.
Local isn't all its cracked up to be. Yes, it's nice to be home every night, but for some of us our personality is best suited on the road.
Don't get me wrong, I got a good gig locally. I make good money for a single guy with no obligations. But at the same time its boring as can be. I do the same #### every week. Like clockwork. Same stops, same stores, same people.
Now if I had some obligations that would keep me local, I'd keep doing it. Don't get me wrong. But the challenge of the road. It's just a different animal. No two days are the same. My local gig. Everything is the same.
I would still tell all of you local job seekers to look into beverage work. It can keep you home, making decent coin... but if you're like me and get bored easily it may not be for you. Till next time... see you down the road.
