So what are the background checks for drivers used for then?Dmv records criminal records psp dac previous employment checks. Lazy people do not find the pattern.But on trucking companies it is #### hard for drivers to know who they are working with as a new driver.Google blocks most negative company reviews on google maps or can be easily taken down.

If a company tell you it’s ok to run without trailer brakes then it’s best you document what they told you, and refuse to pull it until it’s fixed. If they threaten you over it, get proof, file a coercion charge against them and get out of that company asap. It’s obvious they don’t care if a truck has defects that can get the driver killed as well as shut down, or worse get people killed.
