How far you think can brokers push it before we see another trucker strike that will not achieve anything but tighten the capacity for few days.i know some brokers that are making close to 50% profit right now as I run directly with a shipper and see the rates posted on dat for half the price.

This is not a broker issue and never has been

    It’s a driver issue
If you were a broker and had $4 freight but you knew I would haul it for $1 would you voluntarily give me more?
    No!

The brokers sole job is to get it moved. If no one took it for less than $6 then that $4 rate would go up but there’s too many guys and some on this forum who believe that fuel $ is better than no money

And. There will never ever be a strike for those same exact reasons

Let them have the cheap freight.
They’ll go out and I’ll be stepping around.

Supply and demand. The brokers will “push it” until the loads don’t get moved.

That's the problem everyone want to be an owner op but no one wants to learn the lanes the ins and outs of business . They will buy a truck run cheap because they cant speak enough english to negotiate. undercut everyone and then go out of business. Circle of trucking

If you can afford to, park it. And play sniper.

If you can’t afford to park it, sell it.

It’s sad to see people that act like they’re on the deck of the Titanic, with a perfectly good cruise ship equipped with a gangplank floating next to it - and can’t see it.

    Like @Ruthless said - “I don’t need the practice “.

However, exercising available unorthodox tricks such as making bad press for brokers or demanding transparency could shift the supply and demand equilibrium more to the favor of carriers.
I'd rather see the brokers go out of business first and only then carriers than vice versa.
In other words, if I starve hauling cheap freight, I want the brokers who I booked it from starve even more.
That's how I see it as a fair arrangement.

    Strike.

    Don't strike.

    Sell your truck.

    Drive more.

Do as you wish, but stop crying about your 1st world problems.

If you have a nice home, computer, tv, car, and furniture, you really are not very hard done by.
