I would, and have let strangers on my property when they were in need.
A native fellow was stuck with his trailer, pickup truck had broken down. We (myself and my two sons) helped him to our property and he lived out by the barn in his trailer for several months while he got things sorted out in his life. Turned out he was a truker as well, just divorced and no where to go and living out of the trailer.
I'd rather give a guy a hand than live in fear that someone may be a homicidal maniac or serial rapist. The odds are vastly on the side of the person being a decent human being than a murder, rapist, etc...
You could talk to a person anywhere in your travels and they could pull knife and gut you...do you fear contact with others at every turn? I sure hope not, if you do seek help as you are paranoid.
Well I did it to myself

Ill be honest im a dick and i distrust most folks at first and will ALWAYS put my kith and kin ahead of anyone else myself included. But as a rule ill still give everyone a fair shake and i like helping people when and where i can. Worlds ####ed enough. Dont need to go adding to the misery. Besides if even a parinoid dickish mofo like me can put reasonable limits on personal space and what im willing to do and yet still extend a hand to those in need. Why cant others? Makes no #### sense.
A request like gumpers is not unreasonable. He needs a place to stash a truck and me and many others here as part of this job tend to have a LOT of room. So as long as he is respectful to me mine and my land. He can park it there for a reasonable amount of time to get on his feet. And many of the others here have been where gumper is now and have land/shops ect.
And while i cant and wont speak for them all, id be willing to bet most remimber being in that spot gumper is now and are more then happy to be that hand they wished was there for them or to pay back how greatful they are for said hand being there.trimetro, Oldman83, Albertaflatbed and 18 others Thank this. -

Long gone are the days where you never passed a truck on the shoulder without at least hollering at him on the 2 way to see if he needed help. I don't know how many times in the winter I have pulled over to give a guy fuel filters (as long as he was running a Cat) if he gelled up, and I've been caught with my britches down too needing a fuel filter or something else, it's just the way it was. What a #### shame we have changed this much.
@expedite_it , how do you get out of bed in the morning living with that kind of paranoia?
@Gumper , Unfortunately I can't help immediately, but within a month I may be able to help you gather up your Mack if you wind up letting it set somewhere for a bit. I have an RGN, and I'm only a couple hundred miles from your home 20.TripleSix, Albertaflatbed, Isafarmboy and 18 others Thank this. -
So what's the plan with the truck? I'll offer to help you get it back to your place if I can get a rgn from my company.
