When you have to do your 36 hour reset when you aren’t at home and on the road, what do you do? Do you literally sit in the truck for those hours?
I wouldn’t be able to afford to motel/hotel it while OTR with my overhead, and I am wondering when you are OTR for a few weeks, and have to reset, do you just find a truck stop and sit there for those hours?
What do you do with your time? Where do you go? What does life look like when you have to reset and you aren’t home? Does it wear on you over time stick to the truck? What else can you tell me about it?
What do you do on your resets when not home and OTR?

I get some much needed rest. I catch up on my entertainment, I detail the inside of my truck, sometimes I polish the rims, take a walk, it all depends on where I get laid over. If I'm somewhere where I know someone, I'll get up with them if possible, if there's a cool place to visit, I'll do that too. Take the time and rest and clear your head. By the time your 34 is up, you'll feel refreshed.

I often will reset at a planet fitness parking lot and work out 2-3 times in 1.5 days. And use the facilities in there. Or if you can find a walmart that's truck friendly so you can stock up on groceries. I always check out the satellite map beforehand and check out the reviews to see if any truck drivers reported getting towed for parking overnight. And you can call the place and ask about overnight parking. They usually don't care

My last 34 was after driving from Fontana, CA to Tacoma, drop and pick at the same place then haul tail to NJ…won’t do that with a 62mph truck
I literally had 5 minutes left on my cycle no recaps coming. PC’d ten minutes to my favorite NJ turnpike plaza..has a Panda Express.
That said, the only thing I want to do for 34 is sleep, do naughty things and chill. I like drinking my coffee and people watching..
Sometimes I just go into the service shops if there’s a nice female working and bug her. Have her look up parts for my truck that I know they won’t have, lol
I used to spend time doing laundry but don’t anymore because it’s a giant ripoff.
Lastly sit and post a lot on TTR.
If you’re old like me you’ll spend most of the 34 just sleeping, lolbroke down plumber, Coffey, Flat Earth Trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
Laundry and clean truck on the first evening I arrive for a 34 so it's not hanging over my head. Hangout and watch sports the next day. Baseball keeps me occupied til football rolls back around. I usually doordash dinner on the second night. I have an Xbox too if I'm feeling adventurous lol.
I lived a pretty boring life before I went OTR, so I guess 34's never bothered me.broke down plumber, Flat Earth Trucker and Concorde Thank this. -
I like to find out if there is an Orthodox Church or Monastery nearby and check it out. I usually try to see if there's something in the area that I can walk to or get a short ride to like a grocery store, walmart, some other place of interest. Get out while you can because we're all stuck in the truck for far too long far too regularly.

I like being outside and away from people. I park where I can get out for a hike, bike ride, or run.
Got a 6 mile run in this morning from the Valentine truck stop to the Niobrara and back.
