I know they closed the fedex terminals in my hometown and the one in Cabool Mo.
Used to they had a sign out front, “Heroes Work Here!”
guess they didn’t need heroes.Feedman, 77fib77, austinmike and 8 others Thank this. -
Farm truck driver shortage getting worse
I wonder why..?
When i worked driving a wore out death trap for a farmer i got $6.70/hour.
Farmers don’t pay Overtime.
Now they’re like $10-12, you can work at McDs for $15+
Be in heat/air not burning up in summer and freezing in winter cause truck had neither heat nor air.Feedman, 77fib77, austinmike and 9 others Thank this. -
The article lost me at the first bullet point. There's no driver shortage today. None. There's excess capacity still in this freight recession. Go read the threads of new drivers trying to find a job.
Your point is the real issue. When there's a real shortage, wages will go up, but not until then.dwells40, Feedman, JolliRoger and 9 others Thank this. -
A bank in Iowa failed because of trucking investments
A bank in Iowa failed because of trucking investments
But the bank failure should not be seen as an indictment of trucking
“Has nothing to do with trucking… but It’s trucking portfolio…?”
Is this some college educated person saying…

It is a dreary day in the Ho and the hordes of idiots are unspeakable— one GF (Goober F) had to be going 80 or better in a 55 construction zone— his insurance company is gonna love him— and 3 crashes in 18 miles due to 10’ in front of the hood visibility and slickness due to ice fog and DBs (Douche Bags) that failed Mario F’n Andretti’s school of driving but think they passed
Rant over

Y’all ain’t gonna believe this….
Got Paccar Pete being looked over, dude said slack in fifth wheel beating him to death..
I never noticed it…. Anyway.
They sent 3 fuel filters, none right and 0 oil filters.
(Small town noone had in stock so going to let a mechanic do it while i’m in Missouri cause i gotta unload and reload tomorrow to Fremont NE saturday unload.)
Anyway mechanic looking at fifth wheel said, good news, bad news.
I’m listening, I say.
The dude had unlocked the fifth wheel, relocked but never checked pins, which didn’t lock, so he been driving a couple days with ENTIRE fifth wheel moving on the track!!
I’m like, why’d he move it anyway, It was set to load 12, steer drives at 34.
Guess he’s one who thinks it rides better all way to freaking back.
So I told mechanic reset it in middle, should see where it was, mechanic said he could and unhook the gosh darn line, that guy don’t got sense enough for a sliding fifth wheel.
Mechanic said what you want me to do with airline?
I said throw it away, or take it with you, don’t leave it there.
At least the darn thing didn’t break off driving and slamming it everywhere.
“Judge, how do you do it, man, how you put up with this…?”
You can’t deal with ignorance.Last edited: Dec 14, 2023
