Woooh!!!! Is human decency!! Do you know what that means?
When you see a bully , ignorant and stupid person abusing someone for not reason , you should stand up and try to help and bring some type of reasoning. Common sense ! That is all.
I was a police officer and I seen your kind of people . So I know what am talking about .

Yale released a study recently, indicating that at a minimum there are 20 million illegal aliens in the US, and 30 million is very possible.

That many people are going to create an enormous impact on the job market.

Illegals do not just take janitorial, fast food, and farm labor jobs either. Construction jobs. Warehouse jobs. Landscaping jobs. Factory jobs. Slaughterhouse jobs. A LOT of illegals have a false identity that will pass muster for a cursory inspection. They occupy a large number of what USED to be lower middle class jobs.

30 years ago, in the SouthEast US, you could get 10 dollars an hour doing landscaping work. Landscaping does not pay much more than that now.

    Supply and demand is brutal.

Some good points here but try to stay away from political leaning posts.

Don’t worry, trickledown economics will take care of things. Lol

As far as loads out of Cali, I would expect it to slow considerably in the winter since a huge chunk of business is related to agriculture. The consumers still want their stuff but there isn’t as much going out as going in so you end up with Florida style freight rates. If you go in, plan on a lousy rate out and bid accordingly.

When I started my O/O business last October, rates were still pretty good here in California, but they dropped dramatically and are slowly recovering. I mostly drive from NorCal to the PNW and back. Rates going north are getting better by the day, but rates from the PNW to California still really suck on the load boards, as in close to $1 a mile in many cases. But the terrible winter is helping the rates. Last week I was prepared to take a 1.60 load home to cover my fuel, when I got a call from a guy who saw my truck posted on DAT. He has 5 trucks, and runs nothing but apples from eastern Washington to NorCal. Two of his trucks are out getting overhauled, and he was having trouble finding drivers to regularly cover the loads. So I hauled one last week for a rate that's great even when things are going good. Drivers don't want to deal with the snow and chaining up. I just plan carefully and have yet to chain once all winter. I've seen loads on the boards the last few days from LA to Reno for over $3.50 a mile, and they just sit there because nobody wants to deal with Donner Pass which is getting hammered as I type this.

I would think that you could find loads going from SoCal to Colorado/Kansas or Wash/Oregon to Colorado/Kansas most times of the year, if you are willing to load non-reefer loads in a reefer trailer. Between the major ports and the agriculture, there is always something moving from the West Coast to middle America.

And getting from middle America back to the West coast is easy pretty much all year, if you are willing to haul beef.

Rate wise, I admit ignorance, but it seems like a likely triangle, shooting back and forth to middle America from the Western ports and farms.

With all the desperate people flooding into California I'm surprised the rates aren't down to $0.65 a mile to the truck.

I'll admit, I avoid SoCal like the plague. The roads are the worst in the state and don't get me started on the traffic. But being picky in a down market may be a luxury I can't afford much longer. I did my first produce night delivery run this week, and I have to admit, it wasn't bad, especially the lack of traffic around the city and the fact that they pay really well. Although as I type this I'm nodding off mid-sentence because I've been awake for the last 24+ hours and have one day to recover before I head back out for a week.Getting yet another big Pacific storm tonight and tomorrow that will dump several more feet of snow over Donner Pass and keep me on my toes heading up to Seattle tomorrow night. I'll be glad when this winter is over.

Well, you just said a lot. And did the same exact thing but worse, by putting me in the “you people” group that needs scapegoats and more education. And you don’t know me! i just worded my post a little wrong, it was supposed to be more of question & group conversation. So heres a twist for words like you did mine, looks like you just called me stupid (needing more education) Ohhh man, I’m very offended now (not).

Come on, one of the smartest men in the world came from Serbia, Tesla; not every body from south of the border is cartel, and not every carcausion in the US is a millionaire from stocks. I was very careful with how I worded it for these reasons. I’m speaking on the extremes, not the blue collars. I respect the hard work and sacrifice for sure. Maybe someone would come along and confirm or deny it, was my intent. So, Seems you took an emotional response as if I said EVERY body does this, or does that... one of the most hard working, happy, smart, & self taught people i know is from Serbia too. Self taught mechanic, 10+ truck fleet. pride will have us condone activity’s of a group we belong to as if we all do the same thing. Like the big shots on wall st, who do insider trading, or big bank bailouts. Many carcausin people will say “oh no, not my fellow group, theyre hard working people who never do wrong, I’m a honest person” doesn’t make the others in the group honest.

But anyways... I did some research for myself & here’s a little stuff I found on it.
The Best Small Business Loans and Grants for Immigrants - Fundera Ledger

Says there’s equipment loans with no collateral, there’s even a section in there about what makes it attractive is there’s no obligation to pay back. I don’t know what to believe. Don’t really care. What I brought up was a mere observation, that if true, could have an impact on spot market rates from time to time. Same reason why Clothes that “fell” off the truck are 50% less than the authentic.

Here’s a paste from the article:
Part II: Where to Find Business Grants for Immigrants
Generally offered through state governments or nonprofit organizations, grants for immigrants to start a business are available to individuals as well as groups. Business grants for immigrants are most appealing because, as a recipient, you won’t be liable to repay a debt.

But as you’ll expect, this element also makes applications for grants very competitive. So, finding one that fits your specific business needs, successfully getting through the application process, and then qualifying can be tough.

It’s worth the time and effort to research the right business grants for immigrants, though. If you can write a solid grant proposal and make your case, you could find yourself with a great kickstart for your company.

Again, I’m saying I don’t know. And I’m not saying EVERYBODY does it this way. Some sources say myth some sources say facts. maybe I was a little gullible for considering it. If I am wrong I apologize.
