Stick it out. It's just a, qualcomm and, yes, he can run paper logs until that issue gets fixed. Like someone else stated, at least Conway is trying to do the right thing by paying him a little, rather than nothing. Breakdowns are a part of this business and he already has a time investment there. Roll with it

tbrown, he needs to hang in there. Things could be much worse. At least they pay something. I work for Poly, and I went thru similar issues (only they have 'loaner' trucks you drive until your regular truck is fixed), although Poly doesn't pay any kind of breakdown or layover (if it's breakdown related). I know I went thru at least a dozen or more "loaner" pieces of crap trucks in my 1st 6 or 8 months. Newly hired drivers with any company usually get the left over trucks (no matter how many years they've been driving) so in leaving, he might be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire.

It's a little hard to know what working there looks like now. He will start at the bottom...I know the drivers work the docks a lot and then drive on top of that. There are also some pretty slow periods with them.

Thanks to all of you. He is running with paper logs...only bad part is it's all phone with dispatch, etc. He was sent to pickup a trailer for a truck that broke down. Picked it up this morning, but had to wait all night to get the trailer out of the repair facility. He's got the XM tunes going, despite the fact the 10 is like a parking lot; a bridge collapsed. He'll get 1100 miles. Not a bad start :)

Just make sure they have the parking brake set before they unhook you so the truck doesn't try to attack the shop....just saying.

Just sit around and enjoy the free vacation. $3500 paid hotel bill & $1500 spending money.

As for you.... You get a job and shush it!
Leave that driver alone he's already po'd

    Lol!
