Had a younger guy, dry-van driver, nearly flip out because I was smoking near the tank a few days ago. 'Hey, hey! You shouldn't do that!' - 'Smoke? I know.' - 'No! Near the tank!' - 'It's..... water. The non-explosive kind.' *shakes head*

I just started a couple of weeks ago. The job literally fell into my lap in a most serendipitous scenario.

I pull a ConocoPhillips product from Bryan Texas to Fargo every week. Usually spend Monday nights at a service plaza off the Kansas Turnpike. Tuesday nights in Sioux Falls or Watertown South Dakota and Wednesday nights in Concordia or Salina Kansas. I’m home the other four nights.

There’s probably a 100 dry vans/reefers for every 1 or 2 of us tankers. A little more so in the Midwest as the agriculture industry requires more bulk products.
