What you described is'nt any different you running local in a day cab,it can happen at any given moment.Since you're not scared running local, pretend those OTR runs is local.Otherwise ask your dispatcher if he can give those OTR runs to someone else.

The OP should try running from Toronto To Winnipeg in the winter. The dark, twisty, icy, snowy, two lane, moose infested roads are the least of your worries compared to the new Canadian truck driver that was imported from a country that doesn't get snow. Every corner is terrifying.

Abibe Abdula from Brampton Ont. just loves that Toronto to Winterpeg run in his White VOLVO , his 8 relatives in the truck get a bit scared at times but all is good

It's just anxiety eating at you. Understand there was an eternity of time before you were born and an eternity of time after you are dead, in the small 100 year span you are walking around on top of the planet, might not be the best application of your time worrying about when eterinity is coming back.

1st OTR company I worked for had an ex-FHP trooper as a safety director...he always said that if you have to ditch your truck to save someone's life, do it, but make contact so there is a different color paint to prove there was really another vehicle involved.

For the OP, if you're really that uneasy on the road, perhaps a position in the office might be better. You would have more room, closer to the bathroom, constant temperature to work in without idling.

You should try hauling 8600 gallons of gasoline in Los Angles and your shift goes past 2 a.m..All the drunks come out and some of the stations you deliver to are closed in a not so friendly neighborhood.

Yeah I guess you need to be a little crazy to do this job lol. I do find most want nothing to do with a tanker full of gas though. Brand new high-end cars I can't imagine the stress, firearms and gas not so good though.
