I've been going through Oregon many years with different upstanding companies and each time I've had a Pre Pass I always get the Red light.
looking up on Google says the State honors the pre pass but I just went thru the 5 freeway south of Aurora and was pulled in again...its the same in Ashland and the same coming into Oregon from Boise Idaho by that T/A which is cruel anyways to put a DOT scale next to a Truck stop.
Thats just cruel and Unusual punishment
Why Does Oregon Not Honor The Pre Pass ?

Because they want to be difficult... Drivewyze doesn't work there either.
NavigatorWife, tscottme and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
It all works. They have it set to have you come in. That's all. Oregon is anal.

I've gone through with pre-pass. Half the time I get the green light.

It depends on your unit. If I drive my regular truck I will get called into the same places EVERY TIME, green-lit EVERY TIME at others. Now, if I take a different truck (with a different Pre-pass unit), the game changes - I can now sail past some of the stations where I would have been called into in my regular truck, but get stopped at some of the ones where I would have sailed past had I been in my regular truck. After driving the replacement truck for a while I can see it's the same deal - get a red light or a green light at the same places over and over, just different places than I would get in my regular truck.

Because the signal the green light emits interferes with the mating call of the Northern Red Crested Newt.

Oregon does pre-pass. When they are closed they turn it off if I'm not mistaken. I prefer all scale houses leave it on and give all greens when closed, but some here say that's sneaky because they are tracking who is passing through when they are closed. It's easy to get distracted by a phone call or whatever and looking over and seeing green is helpful to me sometimes vs thinking "oh shnit, I'm about to run a scale house, were they open?"
I get red on every scale house that's open in Oregon. I always thought they just pull everyone in when they are open. I've gotten pulled in like 95% of the time. If I get a green on a scale house in Oregon that's open, I'm playing the lottery that night.
Oregon doesn't do IFTA because it's against their state constitution. Is that what u are thinking of?Hollywoodsaint and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
It’s because Oregon is part of the NorPass network, which is a few of the PNW states and BC and Idaho. So you buy the NorPass transponder and get it programmed for prepass for the states that don’t recognize NorPass, then your good to go and get the green lights regularly. Just another money making scam.
