@Modlite11 it was a pleasure meeting you today in Fremont Josh.

Waiting to hear back from the dealer on the new truck, it will actually be cheaper (and quicker) to fly down hoping to get a solid day to pick it up this week. The wife said I just should have flown home Saturday after selling the truck, but I’m optimistic that the new truck will be ready Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. So most likely another night in the hotel tonight in Fremont.

You will run into some traffic, but the worst of the morning rush will be over.

I was hoping to drive for Fremont, but that didn’t work out. I applied for a job with National Carriers and so far they want to fly me down to Irving, Tx on the 27th of this month. Reefer hauling hanging beef. Starting pay isn’t as much as Fremont but beggars can’t be choosers. Training pay is $700/week for 4 weeks. Then 46cpm to start. Maybe after 18 months then I can come to Fremont.

If you’re in mid-MO you might want to check into Butler in Kansas City. They train and if #### hits the fan, it’s a lot closer to turn a truck in than Irving, TX. Just a thought. Hirschbach is in KC so is Marten, Swift, and TransAm. Although I’ve heard nothing good about TransAm. Crete has a terminal on the MO side but idk if they train. JB Hunt has a terminal in KC, but again, idk if they train. Clark in Columbia might be worth a call as well. I can send you a number for an end dump company, but now’s not the best time of the year to start that, it’s kind of slow. Plus you’d be sticking a trailer up in the air and that’s not for everyone. Best of luck!

before i drove for Magnum i had looked into both Butler and Marten. Both of them seemed like decent places (compared to Schneider) and Marten was on my shortlist with Magnum before i applied with them

I can’t imagine hauling beef and all the downtime waiting at plants. Magnum never touched meat and hardly ever did produce loads. I hauled a lot of frozen fries, pizzas, and egg products and that had enough downtime as it is
