Attempted suicide by truck....

Sounds like some of the responses in this thread are starting to get hateful.....hopefully this won't go they way that Leelah Alcorn thread got so vicious.... As bad as this one was, if someone is that depressed enough to want to kill themselves, you think they are going to be in a clear mind? I've dealt with mild depression, and I have witnessed family members and a close personal friend dealing with severe depression. It's not something I would wish on my worst enemy.

My own personal opinion of suicide is that it is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Many friends, family members, and acquaintances have chosen this way out, and once I got over the initial grief, I had nothing but contempt for them. In this particular case, here's what I think: if you're going to off yourself, at least have the common decency to not do it such a way that you could take a bunch of other folks with you.

 

They ought to sentence that driver to...

Some of the responses are a little over the top but I'd be disappointed if it were any other way.

I can feel some sympathy for someone who finds life so bad they think suicide is a good option. When they decide it would be a good idea to end their life in a way that could easily end others and will definitely have a very bad effect on others that sympathy is replaced by anger. Clear mind or not there's no reason to make others suffer.

 

this lady didn't try to commit suicide. she tried to have herself killed. she was to chicken to do it herself and needed someone else to murder her. i too have had a very close person in my life attempt suicide, over dose and razor so i know how devastating it can be to have a love one so deep in depression. in this case though, no she didn't want to live but couldn't do it herself. screw her. no sympathy here for her. her family yes, but her hell no.

Yep, more often than you hear about. Sometimes they don't use a vehicle though.

the one comment from the article from the dash cam owner was, (I paraphrase) "had that truck not just passed me, it would have been me that got hit instead". Kinda' makes one think

 

She is suicidal and didn't just happen over night,somebody had to have known and should have locked her up.That was very selfish of her to drag innocent ppl down with her.
