So, I currently work for a major grocery distribution and retailing DC that just lost a large portion of our business. I have a decent bid, but now my income will likely be halved.

I am thinking about heading over to Sysco. They have a Job Fair tomorrow, and I will go check it out.

I know what they do....multiple stops....hand cart down ramps etc.

I currently do physical work and multiple stops daily, and am willing to continue doing so.

    And so my question is:

How do Sysco drivers normally get paid? Hourly? Or Cases, Stops, Miles? Also, any essential info I might consider is appreciated.

Any info from informed folks is very much appreciated.

I don't work for sysco but have many friends that do and in the yard that they are at its performance pay which is hourly+cases+miles they couldn't really explain it all lol I know they have a 1000 a week minimum if work is slow. I hope that helps you out

Ok, here is revelence for Payroll.

    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/search/23529925/?q=Sysco+payroll&o=relevance

What you might do is open right click each in a new tab so you can "Fly" between them.

Google hits it both by specific distributions and a number of spider bots gathering information on overall payroll.

The main thing I didn't like when in training you would run a route and when your done at a good time and you think you will be able to go home, think again they usually put you in a van to run around and help other drivers. So my average day started between 3 to 4am and went til about 7 at night sometimes. You wouldn't know what your doing the next day until 530 in the evening. You might be off, on call, or come in anywhere between 2 and 6am.
The best things about the job was I lost almost 40lbs in less then 3 months and money was pretty good,
One of the worst parts of the jobs was going into some of those kitchens and seeing the mess, you will lose a lot of places to go eat at.
