That’s Mark Sherman from Fine Tune Radio. He spent years living in his van at truck stops tweaking and tuning radios. What you’re actually hearing is a recording and it’s funny how he actually acts like he’s talking to someone.

Still, no reason why I should hear him across 3/4 of the country, and in good reception mind you. He must be pushing out some serious wattage. I have a CB that's supposedly peaked and tuned to 40 watts and with a Wilson 2000 antenna I'm lucky to get over 6 miles on a good day. I turn my gain down though to cut out a lot of the white noise, which reduces range down to a few miles.Still undecided Thanks this.

I wonder if anyone can tell me about the driver apprentice program Magnum offers? I have my Class A, just no experience beyond my training for the test. (6 years of Class B experience though.) I’ve seen a posting for a position local to me and from what I’ve read it seems like Magnum could be a great company to get on with, just wondering if it’s feasible with my limited experience. TIA!
Zangief and LilRedRidingHood Thank this. -
It’s run thru th coon rapids LTL terminal. They learn the basics in the yard, backing and pretrial stuff. They then send you out with a Coon rapids P&D driver around town. It’s paid but I have no idea what. You need to stay around Coon ralids. It’s mainly for LTL P&D drivers to be trained.Winnyf1 Thanks this.

"Backing and pretrial stuff" was that a Freudian slip?

I know Magnum gives us one free wash a month, and I've already used it, but my tractor is beyond filthy due to all the road slush and salt grime from my tour of North Dakota. It's more white and brown than blue. Are we allowed to get our trucks washed on our own dime? And will it affect our monthly free wash? There's a blue beacon in my town and i don't mind spending the $50 to get my tractor looking like it wasn't dragged through a mudpit and a salt pile backwards.

I’m sure Magnum won’t mind you using your hard earned money to wash their truck! I get it though…I used to pay to wash mine in between….
Just tell the BB your paying out of pocket this timecdavis188 Thanks this. -
Some of the non-Blue Beacons will give you a discount when you pay for a washout (Magnum paid) and you tell them you’re paying cash for the tractor.

Any chance Magnum would pay for an extra wash for you at this time of year when you go through a snowstorm? Maybe you could charm your DM into giving you an extra wash. After all, it's nice that you have enough pride to want to keep your truck looking good.
