Just curious does anyone on this forum Lease a truck from FCC I've always hear like leasing a truck is a scam and Etc. just curious if anyone on here does that?
Need4Speed Thanks this. -
I would never lease on to some of these big companies. It just lets them keep their hooks in you. FCC seems pretty decent but I would still probably, if possible, buy a truck with a loan vs lease so if things change I can change carriers without dealing with some company has my lease complicating the issue.
but again, others here have much more direct experience with the FCC Program.Last edited: Aug 23, 2024

So, unloaded in Savannah and when I went to sweep out the trailer discovered 11 rubber bands. The bigger but still office supply type of rubber bands. All spread throughout the whole trailer with the normal dust and wood chips.
What the heck do we haul that would have rubber bands falling off during load or unload?

we are all well aware that freight is tight and the company is doing their best to cut costs and having to juggle a few things.
For most of us that includes an increase in Broker Loads to fill the gaps, more sitting on Docks for Live Loads and Unloads, or just more down time between loads.
Now, if we have a Short Haul group of 11 drivers and we are still facing the very same freight issues, what options do we face?
If we only have enough freight to keep 7 guys “fully employed”, do we just cut hours for all 11 of them? Everyone is now working 25 hours a week? Do we lay off 4 of the lower seniority drivers and keep 7 fully employed?
Personally, I hate those options.
Or maybe we offer a few of them (btw, 4 of the 11 is not most) an opportunity to go Regional or Long Haul to help everyone get through this hopefully temporary situation? No one is cut hours. No one loses their jobs.
plus, when things start to pick up in the industry as a whole, and it will, who will be the ones first offered future local opportunities when we start ramping up again? Who will be remembered as a flexible willing team member going forward?
plus, of course, economically, you would keep the lower hourly people on the local routes. If you move the more experienced drivers to Regional or Long Haul, they will probably make a higher CPM for their years of longevity vs the lower seniority drivers.
Everyone is still employed within the company. No one is going home with short hours. The more experienced drivers are now helping generate more revenue for the company.
Not a good situation for anyone directly involved, but much much better than other options.
My $0.02Knucklehead, Need4Speed, runningman0661 and 2 others Thank this.
