I almost t boned a Tesla on the interstate today. I was just giving her the beans in lane three up hill when this ####### came to a near stop from 70 in the middle lane of I-84. The car behind him cut hard right in front of me as I was on the brakes heading for the shoulder. The Tesla made a hard right across two lanes and stopped on the shoulder. I left some skid marks on the road and various other locations. I forgot just how dumb north east drivers are.Lonesome Thanks this. -

. Seeing drivers like that makes me feel better about myself. My previous DM recently had a driver start at the glass plant he works out of now...said the guy had to be pushing 325 if he was a pound. No way in hell will he handle running glass for very long...

But maybe… Somebody should check his pulse point! -
I'm just wondering if he fell asleep half way out the door or if it's just so hot outside that he was just enjoying one more breath of cool air before getting out.Last edited: Jul 3, 2024

My delivery finally happened. They figured out which building to unload me at...I had to park in the street and they pulled it off a little at a time from the building's driveway, so it was unload a few pieces, back the truck up, unload a few, back up. The road was so busy they had to get 2 traffic control guys with stop signs. Plus, they didn't have any place to store the load once they got it off my trailer, so basically it was sitting in the driveway.
And a wierd thing happened. I had my phone in my pocket, but left the headset on the dash of the truck(and forgot to turn it off). I was at the very back of the trailer winding my last few straps when Rancho called me with a heads up about which way to head when I got empty...but my phone was still connected to the headset 75' away with all the stuff like my headache rack and the metal front of the conestoga. Didn't bluetooth technology used to have a range of about 30-40 feet?
Speaking of my next load, I deadhead down to El Monte, CA (SoCal) and pick up on Wednesday going to Hanahan, SC for Monday...and I get to keep my conestoga, which is unexpected because I figured they had a need for conestogas for blanket loads out of that area...guess after the door plug blowout, Boeing isn't building as many planes as before and don't need as much insulation, or they have enough conestogas to cover their needs. Either way, I get to keep my trailer.Friend, 88 Alpha, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Looks like I get some of what the Magnum guys call "steak money". I get to my shipper at 7:30 for a 8 am shipping window. Shipping says they're way behind on production and it will be this afternoon before they have product to load. Now the dilemma, do I order Prime Rib, or a Porterhouse... decisions decisions
