If you’re setting off drive cam your way to fast! No but in all seriousness having 15yrs in trucking and majority of that having pulled every tanker you can think of. From oil, chem, fuel, to cryo, never ever try to push it faster than need be. You well know with experience that seat of you pants feeling and how to judge a corner and correct for load, weather, traffic etc..

There's no one making tiktoks of you driving too slow and asking why. I only pulled tanks for a couple years, but I never felt like I was going too slow. If someone else was crowding me, my attitude was to ignore them because they were too stupid to realize what would happen if the phosphoric acid (or caustic or whatever I had) splashed all over their vehicle. And I always drove like it was phosphoric acid or caustic even if it was something that didn't require a placard.

Here's a sobering fact if you want one: the majority of tanker driver deaths are caused by rollovers. And almost all rollovers are caused by excessive speed.

It all depends on the product and the trailer. Brenner 6k gallon air ride hauling causti or magnesium hydroxide, I didn't take the curves fast at all. Polar 7500 gallon air ride tanker hauling asphalt I could whip around like crazy and it never wanted to pull me

If I’m not mistaken, that driver was as dead as a doornail before he drifted left. The car that braked before getting crushed was a teenage girl who was luckily paying attention to her surroundings.

I heard something like that however couldnt fine anything online confirming what exactly happened. Regardless, it is a scary site which is another reason in my 30 years of driving I still won't drive tankers and alway try to stay clear of them.

Baffles only help with front to back sloshing, they do not prevent the liquid from side to side movement...Trust your gut and take it slow!!
