An inframe on a modern truck is between 40/45K. I can find the type of truck I’m looking for between $55/60K.

Today the good Lord has granted me one more year of existence. Speaking about trucks today I had the opportunity or privilege for the first time in many years to stop and get to see the "I-80 Trucking Museum " I felt like a little kid!

I reflected on how trucks and cars were built back then and how durable they were with minimal maintenance problems and cost was very low.

Sometimes If you had a problem you would just cut some wires and continue driving or if a fuse was blown you would just take out the little pack of "Spearmint Gum" and use the aluminum foil and wrap the burnt fuse put it back in it's location and continue driving!

Nothing would stop you from going down the road unless it was a major problem.

Here is a couple of pictures...

is it normal after a fuel filter change on these Cascadia’s for it to take it a good 3-5 seconds of cranking the motor before it turns over, even after letting it run and driving it around town?

this is why i despise broker freight. thankfully i’ve never been held hostage somewhere for a full day. 8-10 hours a few times but nothing longer than that

First diesel we had on the farm was a 1979 White/GMC Road Commode cab over. That thing would beat you to death. I used it to take grain to ADM in St. L, Cargill at Mound City and MFA Mexico and Moberly Mo. I hated that truck!

@cdavis188 I had a few issues with one of my Holland trucks where it would do that, but normally after a service it’ll take a minute or two for the engine to catch. It’s usually the air trying to purge itself from the fuel system and lines.

Sounds like there’s air in the system. I know with my Paccar I have to change one fuel filter, prime it, start it, then change the other fuel filter, prime it, and start it. If I do both at once no matter how much I hand prime it my check engine light will come on.
