Sitting in Eau Claire waiting for the snow storm to hit after doing exactly 11 hrs and 656 miles.

Have to run 100 more miles up to Rogers to make a 0830 appt. I'm thinking I'll leave early. I have a feeling the snow is going to make the trip a bit longer then usual.

Liking the new 2017 automatic .... only one complaint. The APU can't keep up when I run my microwave or coffee maker. I have to start my engine to keep the LVD from kicking in.

 

So this is new to me, but there is a Loves at 94 and 294 in South Holland, IL (Chicago). I almost never go that way so I've never seen it. It's not listed in my GPS. It's almost 1900 and there are quite a few spots left. It's surprising. On Google it looks like it's under construction. But it's open!

It's not right where they intersect, but just north of there. Brand new and pretty! Opened Nov 11th.

 

They are building them so fast google and other apps can't keep up with the new ones.

 

Well after some nonsense in Coon Rapids I finally got into a new to me truck.
To recap:
My old truck (1574) got smashed in the parking lot of Loves in Toms Creek, Va. (PTL driver didn't set his brakes at the fuel island and rolled into me)
Get to Coon Rapids and get moved into 1545. Unfortunately it was throwing codes and had to go to Pete. Pete "fixed" it and I made it 2 blocks before it started throwing codes again. Took it back to Coon rapids and had 2 other trucks to pick from. Took the cleanest one of two. So now I'm in truck 1511.
Thank goodness this truck is a manuaI!
So I ran my 3 drop load from St.Cloud to Md.
Got a reload from York, Pa. to Hope Mills, NC that weighed a whopping 2500 lbs for a full truck load.
Now I'm sitting on my couch at home watching tv until Monday!

 

How often do you update your GPS's map database? When I 1st got the SmartNav system on this truck working, I did an update and I update my personal GPS every couple months. I have gone to Walmart DC's that have been open for years that were a grass field on Google Maps...sometimes their satellite data is a bit behind.

 

I haven't updated it once yet since I bought it about 5 months ago. I don't have a laptop and I haven't been home.

 

Well... it's 0230 and I just woke up. Chicago to Minneapolis by 1200 is my mission. The weather shows a winter storm all the way through. Hold my beer...

 

If you hold my beer, deliver close to Ogden, Ut on Sunday AM. After consultations, decided to run across 70 to Denver then up and over....and then see 80 is shut down in Wyoming. Hopefully it'll be opened today or early tomorrow.
