Magnum ltd - fargo, nd

Wanted to turn my truck in at CR and theyre asking if ill bring it to Fargo promising to have a driver shuttle me back down to CR. Makes me nervous for some reason.

On a side note, if people stealing trailers wasnt bad enough, someone removed 2 placards from the hazmat trailer I just dropped off in the yard. Well done....

Once you start seeing craigslist ads for drivers, you can bet their scraping the bottom of the barrel with new hires.

 

I saw an Indeed ad for Magnum out of my area (N FL)

 

For a growing company in a drivers market where everyone is hurting for drivers and bending on the requirements to hire someone, I cant fault magnum for casting a big net. And all this talk about bottom feeders just highlights the biggest problem this industry has and that's quality training. Far too many schools and companies are just rushing people through. Id really like to see more schools and companies put a higher standard on training, or even the ability to brush up on skills, practice, and learn new skills.

So far Id say Magnum has treated me very well and I consider myself fortunate to have joined a company like magnum instead of prime, cr england, crst, swift...

Everyone is just hurting badly for drivers. Hell, you use to need 3-5 years experience to get a LTL job and usually there was a waiting list.

 

Did you get a ride ?

I know at p*** they WILL NOT let some one ride home with another driver
once they disemploy their self

These companies are flat out paranoid nowadays ... Insurance / Liability
has them acting unkindly towards other humans

 

They started a training school, so yes they are getting desperate for new drivers.

 

When I was still with Magnum, I had talked to a couple drivers who were getting rides back after dropping off their trucks. I guess they don't consider you gone until you walk off the property for the last time, so technically you're still employed riding with another company driver.

 

Well finally got a call from CR outbound, going to take an LTL trailer up to fargo and they claim ill be able to hitch back with the next driver back down and if not she said Chad WILL make sure I get back. My flight is booked for Friday. I really dont have a reason to think they would go back on their word. Id like to think we can help each other out. Like I said, they always treated me good, totally willing to work with them.

Its just flights out of Minneapolis are cheaper and faster than fargo for obvious reasons.
