We ditched them too, switched to Samsara. A 100% improvement! Our Peoplenet froze up to often and I can’t tell you the number of times that stupid POS would download an update right as I was done working and heading home on a Friday. The update could take minutes to hours. Come back in Monday and of course you’ve been on duty for the last 60 hours. I don’t even understand how they’re still in business.

Starting out the week with better luck. Before taking a shower this morning, I decided to cruise the Wilmer yard in search of an empty. The only ones I saw all day yesterday were the ones they're peeling the stickers off of for trade/sale. Some of them were 838### trailers, so they're starting to get rid the last of the spring ride trailers. I ended up finding a recently dropped empty, that was still cool inside, so it hadn't been there long. Plus, I re-read all the appointment changes on the load I am on...this load picks up today, delivers tomorrow north of Columbia MO. For some reason I thought it delivered Tuesday.

Well, my day started out good. Found an empty, had to get it washed out, but it was still quicker doing that than going on an snipe hunt looking for a trailer. Got to my shipper a little early, but still given a door right away, and within 45 min after my appointment, I was loaded, sealed and on the road. North of Sherman, TX, I get a preplan...which is another one of those 'priority' loads where they want you to stay at a shipper, that doesn't have overnight parking. Plus, the 'ready' time is only 6 hours after my PTA, but they only gave the load 11 hours between appointments. So I said no, can't do it...then another beep...turns out, I got another trailer who's reefer decides it doesn't like to stay running like it's suppose to, and it shut itself down. And, it's one of those trailers who's corner display led light assembly has been pushed to the front of the trailer, so you can't see the green/yellow LEDs in the mirror. This one, appears to have either a oil pressure sensor acting up or a funky wire in the harness because it shut down due to low oil pressure, but when you clear the alarm and fire it up, it sounds normal, not like an engine with low oil pressure. After that one shutdown, it has stayed running like it should. So, I only managed to get past Springfield, MO before losing that driving enthusiasm and said the hell with it and called it a day. I'm sure I'll hear about it tomorrow.
Lonesome Thanks this.
