I second that statement. The AMT in my lease truck is smooth as silk. Literally has the same if not better shift quality than my Cadillac's and Lincoln's

Yes. All about how a company has them programed. My truck is a 2025 Cascadia DD15 with a 6 speed Allison and it shifts like a car. I was in a 2019 Cascadia DD15 12 speed automated Eaton last week as a sub truck and it shifted like an experienced floater was shifting it. Course it had Manual and Performance modes activated. Those 12 speeds are nice with Manual mode.

well, I wish the half-tard that programs these would take the short bus back to where he learned to program because these are the most horrific shifting transmissions I have ever driven. I think a driving school student on their 1st day learning how to drive a manual is smoother. I have been in a bunch of traffic this week and it is almost getting me sea sick every time because, at slow stop and go speeds, this thing lurches and jumps, and can't make up it's mind which gear it should be in. Last night, when trying to back in nice and subtle, it would slip the clutch for a few seconds, then just dump it, launching me at the dock.
And it isn't just this truck, every Freightliner AMT I have driven at this company has done it. Hell, the Mack I drove at Moore didn't even have creep mode and backed smoother. Any idiot who buys one of Creaffer's trade trucks might seriously consider getting every extra warranty they can that covers the transmission and the drive-line because, as bad as these things are at shifting and backing, it can't be good for the entire drive train.Friend, Knucklehead, cdavis188 and 1 other person Thank this.
