I told them I can't do that load. I messaged the Princess 1st thing this morning and said, whatever they offer has to deliver before payroll cutoff and that I won't have another 2000-2100 mile week...then they sent that load. If they keep this up, I won't be back after my July hometime...I'll get an application sent out on my load going home then drop the truck off in Deland and be done. A local driver around home makes better money than an OTR driver does at Shaffer.

They finally sent me a different load. Grand Rapids to Concord, NC for Thursday night. I am tired of constantly fighting with these people to make a reasonable paycheck.

Constantly fighting? They gave you a 1300 miler to San Antonio. It’s barely 800 miles to Concord NC. Plus the probable deadhead miles to DFW and as DT mentioned they could split the loads miles to fit into the pay period better.

I am tired of 300 mile a day loads. You might be one of those drivers @drvrtech77 posts about that is content with that kind of average, I am not. Anything under 25-2800 miles in 7 days is unacceptable, especially this time of year. I shouldn't have to split a 1300 mile load when I am getting empty on a Tuesday, especially when they knew my PTA the previous Friday...that is just piss poor planning. I can honestly see the 300 mile drivers lack of motivation at this point because I am losing enthusiasm about this company rapidly.

I run 2500-3000 miles a week whether I feel like it or not. I’d be content with 2200 but pulling tankers, 50% of our miles are MT headed back home. No way would I ever pull a van or reefer again and most certainly not with a mega. SSB you knew without a doubt how coming back to Crete was going to work.

They should have you pickup the San Antonio, drop in Wilmer, and be on your way but apparently that’s not an option. My time with Knight was all I needed to know that megas aren’t for me.

Take a long hard look at this past week you took a 34 out on the West Coast you reloaded Friday now whether that San Antonio load delivered Friday or Saturday you would have had almost 3600 miles in 7 to 8 days… How on earth is that bad?

we are paid every 7 days, and every time I carry miles over, they make me sit and then I don't get extra miles to make up for the previous week.

I ended up with 2150 when I delivered in WA (in 6.5 days), then this load was 2124 by Tuesday(including another 34)...the TX load wouldn't pay until next weeks miles, so that's 2 back to back 2100 miles weeks. I have had 1 week out of the last 6 that was over 2500...if you were averaging that kind of miles, you'd be all over management's ###. I can handle the occasional 2100, but constant 2100 weeks is regional or local miles, not OTR. At least with this load to Concord, I can deliver it and know what I am sending to the house without having to try to calculate whats left over after a split for the following weeks miles.

After the last 18-19 months, starting with SPD's pay changes, I have had a steady drain on my savings, which included covering the $1000's for my wife's meds when I came over here, my savings account has gone from 5 figures to low 3 figures...there is no more 2000 mile week cushion left. I am to the point that I am gonna check to see if I have a whole life insurance policy that I can mortgage just to get some breathing room.

Sounds like a serious budget problem at the house and dude stays gone too long to fix the problem.

Door to FCC is wide open...just saying

We have none of the bs that Crete pulls. I run 3200-3300 miles a week average on regional lanes. OTR is the same if not a little more. Excellent shop personnel, well maintained equipment, good benefits, and on the odd chance equipment breaks down or you have to sit somewhere, you get paid for it. And not the $75/day bs either. You don't get bs messages, are left alone, and are expected to be a responsible adult here

You mentioned that FCC's benefits would take too long to kick in, but based on what I've read the past few weeks, maybe you should've just stomached that and saved yourself a ton of grief
