Well, I agree some trucking companies do treat their drivers as well as the industry will allow, I’ve never really seen a true “family“ environment at a trucking company. You go out, you mess something up, you get in a major at fault accident or something like that and you’re gonna find out real quick that you’re not actually family. Lol your family will actually still be there for you. The trucking company will rightfully get rid of you if you do something stupid. That said, companies do treat drivers very differently depending on where you land. I consider the company. I’m at now to treat their drivers about as good as the industry can, the last company I was at? Not so much. In fact, not so much at all. Lol it’s like night and day. And I plan to retire where I’m at.
as for recruiters? If you’re a good trucking company and you treat your drivers well, the word gets around and I don’t even think you need a recruiter. Recruiters are hired BSers. Bever believe anything they tell you and I cringe at their cheesy bumper, sticker slogans that they throw at you.
What is something you hate hearing from a recruiter at a bad trucking company?

They say - "our trucks are equipped with the latest technology to keep you safe". I hear - we have all the latest nanny sensors and driver distraction devices to annoy the crap out of you.
They say - "Our pay is competitive". I hear - we only pay our drivers what we have to, and not a penny more
They say - "we pay via 1099 to save you taxes". I hear - we can't afford to pay via w2 because the employer contribution of the FICA is too high.
They say - "fuel card provided". I hear - we're a 1099 company but don't want to advertise it because it inhibits us from getting drivers in the door.
They say - "safety is our highest priority". I hear - we've had a lot of safety issues and the DOT is cracking down, so we have to micromanage everything you do.snowlauncher, TurkeyCreekJackJohnson, lual and 7 others Thank this. -
For a while I kept seeing trailers with a big banner reading “2500$ a week… nothing to buy”. The old saying “if it looks too good to be true it probably is” kept coming to mind every time I see one of those.
